Professional Development & Training

Forest Schools are popping up across Canada as awareness and interest spread! This means that there will be a need for early childhood educators with Forest School training. Forest School Canada is collaborating with Forest School educators from the UK to establish Forest School training for practitioners in Canada.

Forest Schools Education in the UK has established four levels of training that practitioners can complete. Level 1 is an introduction to the philosophy and ethos of Forest School. Level 2 allows you to become an assistant practitioner. Level 3 makes you qualified to set up and run Forest School sessions. Level 4 allows you to become an associate trainer for other practitioners. Forest School Canada is adapting this type of levelled training for practitioners interested in becoming qualified to work in a Forest School.

For more information about courses, training and prerequisites, please take a look at http://www.forestschools.com/training/course-list/ or http://www.forestschoolcanada.ca/home/practitioners-course for information about Canadian based training opportunities.
